A Little Look At Microsoft Access Application

Microsoft Access 2003 is my ideal application for creating small business databases. If you are new or want to be a part of the programmer’s world then I suggest Microsoft Access for you, with this application you can easily create professional databases for saving and sorting all kind of records and can make different reports as you need.

Its interface is graphical and very friendly with few clicks and a little planning you can build up good database applications. There are many templates and wizards that are very helpful. Microsoft Access supports Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that means you can make links between different databases.

For making a database first of all you need to planning about it that what kind of record you or your customer need to save or for a what kind of purpose you are creating a database, after that create tables in which your data stored or you can use wizards to build up specific tables. Then create forms for inserting or posting data after that make queries for updating, sorting, appending or for showing a specific data from different tables into a single table or report. Now create reports for printing on papers desired data. There is another important tool named Macro, with this one you can create different functions and many behaviors for different forms and reports and can make different menu bars and messages for users if their turn against the rules of data that you already describe in tables and forms.

You can also create some Modules in order to make your database secure from accessing unauthorized persons or can define users and administrator groups. There is another great option for tracing a user with login time and date.

Microsoft Access is not supportable for up to 2GB data storage. If your data is larger than 2 GB then there is another option for you that you can use “Upsizing Wizard” with this one you can transfer your tables on to MS SQL Server and can use Forms and Reports that you designed in MS Access as a front application, with this method you can speed up your database and there is no chance of corrupting database and no need of optimizing and repairing. Use MS SQL Server as back end application where your data saved and front application is MS Access. You don’t need to make any change in your Forms and Reports use them as they are.

You can also convert Access Database tables on My SQL Server by using 3rd parties tool like Access to My SQL migration tool kit etc.
